More pictures for the Album. As Lori tells the tale:
Ken asked me to go into the pump house and get some chlorine for the pool.
I went down barefoot but kind of feeling funny like I should have put shoes on. When I turned
on the light, my suspicions were confirmed ....there was a tarantula on the step going into
the pump house.
Got Ken's thong, camera, flashlight, alcohol and matches. The flashlight
was to make enough light for the camera to take a picture. The thong was
to kill the beast and the alcohol and matches were to thoroughly destroy
him. There is a poison in their hairs that can burn....I didn't want the
dogs to get hurt.
So here is the beast and the burnt offering that he made. I was just
REALLY glad I hadn't stepped on him and will use my shoes a little more
often from now on!
By the way.....his measurements (after being burned and shriveled up) were
still 3x4 inches. I didn't ask the shoe size.

(Lori doesn't say what Ken was doing without his thong - probably another story all together.
Seriously, we are thankful that God watches. Editor.)

A Trip to the Zoo
(You Can Come Along Too)
Lori and the girls took the summer intern to the Mossoró zoo. This is what they saw. Alicia was most impressed (of
all the exotic animals) with the pig.
Jessica had a hard time seeing the aligators in the water.

October 1999 - Ken has been developing concrete panels. These pictures show him and crew using a crane to hoist the panels to the top of a storeroom father Joe built. They plan to use this type of panels for ceilings in the new school buildings and other future projects.
